Wk10 – Artist Interview – Dawn Ertle

This week I was to view Dawn Ertle’s Artwork and I thought it was pretty interesting. I can honestly say this is the first time Ive seen this kind of art. It is really unique.

She begins her process about a year ago when she began weaving wool, yarn and plastic create these fiber structures. She ties everything by herself, and dyes all yarn and wool on her own. She picks the colors that would end up going best together.

I like how she names her artwork “One Nation Under God” or “Long Distance Relationship” it symbolizes something of the artwork. Such like the Red White and Blue one is like the colors of america and is her reasoning of naming that piece of Art.

Overall, the gallery was full of surprising and entertaining sight of artwork (very unique).
