On January 29th, Art 110 class visited the art gallery on campus which featured a few artist, which one of them was Maccabee Shelley. As I walked into the Gallery, I noticed the sculptures were made of glass. When we asked what inspired him to do such art, Shelley responded with “the art you see in front (pointing towards the posted picture on the left), that was his first time doing it and he loved it.” We also asked Shelley which was his favorite art. Shelley responded with, “the art with two different color glass standing on top of the mold (picture on the right).”
We were able to hear about Maccabee history of why he makes glass sculptures and learn about his art, his processes, and how he thinks/visualize when it comes to art.
